There’s a familiar pattern when a new technology is introduced: It grows rapidly, comes to permeate our lives, and only then does society begin to see and address the problems it creates. Due to the dynamism of qualitative studies, there are often adverse ethical situations. The aim of this integrative review was to analyze and synthetize ethical dilemmas that occur during the progress of qualitative investigation and the strategies proposed to face them. Ethical considerations are essential in research and professional practice, ensuring that work is conducted with integrity, respect, and responsibility. Addressing ethical concerns involves identifying and mitigating potential risks to participants, society, and the integrity of research. In this commentary, I will dive deeper into the ethical implications that relate to the use of GenAI for academic writing and aim to provide a balanced view to answer the question “to use or not to use ?”. Ethical communication is fundamental to responsible thinking, decision making, and the development of relationships and communities within and across contexts, cultures, channels, and media and it yields positive outcomes, such as truthfulness, respect, and accuracy of information. Use these questions to help you think about your ethical responsibilities : What are you trying to achieve? How can this technology help or harm people? What does a good service look like for your community? There are eight areas of risk. This page focuses on four that are most relevant to charities and other organisations. The following definitions are applied to the terms ‘ responsible ’ and ‘technology’ in this guide: Responsible : being responsible means having ethical and sustainable practices that consider and involve the workforce and other stakeholders during business decision-making. There are three key requirements when it comes to AI transparency: Interpretability—the human understanding of how an AI model operates and behaves. Accountability—ensuring AI systems are held responsible for their actions and decisions.
