Instead of presenting work as a curse , the Bible shows that it is a blessing to be cherished. As noted above, God himself is a hard worker. Having created humans in his image, Jehovah has bestowed on them the ability and the authority to manage his earthly creation. Work can be a blessing . Does the Bible not say that work is a curse? Genesis 3:17-19 might seem to imply that God punished Adam and Eve for their rebellion by putting the burden of work on them. When condemning those first humans, God said to Adam: “In the sweat of your face you will eat bread until you return to the ground.”. Do not squander an opportunity to let your work now prepare you to work for God in His Kingdom (Matthew 25:24–28)! Is your work a curse ? It does not need to be ! With God’s help, we can all experience the joys of working— God’s way— now, and prepare for profound, fulfilling, and meaningful work in God’s Kingdom. AS THIS example illustrates, the products of modern technology can be either a blessing or a curse —the choice depends on us. Few people, though, would prefer to go back to the comparatively crude products of yesteryear. For example, we are at liberty to decide whether an illness is a gift or a curse . We decide if losing a loved one is a tragic experience or an opportunity for miraculous transformation. Either way, we will still feel grief and loss, but suffering, which is very different from pain, is a choice. Blessing or Curse ? A driver loses control of his car and hits a utility pole, seriously injuring a passenger. Immediately, he uses his cell phone to call for help. But why did he lose control?
